Can you think of a way to make a couple’s session more special than by using it for pregnancy announcement photos? Ali and Ethan let me know about a week before their couple’s session that they wanted to tell the world about their baby. I was absolutely thrilled to be part of such an exciting moment in their life. Keep reading to learn more about this special couple, and the gift they have coming their way.
The Couple
This sweet couple still fits in the newlywed description, having been married for less than a year now! They met at church, and Ali was friends with Ethan’s brother first. When these two did meet, there was an immediate spark. Instead of diving headfirst into a romantic relationship, they focused on building their friendship. After a year and half, they finally began dating. The love at first sight they had felt never went away. It took no time for them to both know they were with ‘the one’.
They dated for about a year before getting married, and found out they were expecting 5 months into their marriage. From newlywed bliss to parents in no time!
The Baby
While babies were on the agenda at some point in the future, they were not part of the plan in the first year. In the days leading up to her positive pregnancy test, Ali found herself in an interesting conversation with God. She found herself reading Isaiah 6:8. “Here I am. Send me!” the scripture told her. Ali prayed over these words and that God’s will be done, that He takes them where they need to go. That they would know how to follow His heart. She anticipated big change! Maybe a new job, or moving to a different state. Pregnancy was not what they expected.
After the initial shock of a new baby faded away, these two are so excited! Even though a baby so early in their marriage wasn’t the plan, they are excited to raise their child up in Christ. Baby Bockie is their next great adventure.
The Location
These parents-to-be chose Farragut State Park in Athol for their couples' pregnancy announcement photos. Heading out there in the winter meant snow! The powdery white blanket on the ground made the whole experience romantic and playful. I love sessions in the cold because they give you an extra reason to cozy up to your partner.
