Black Bay Park | Post Falls, Idaho

Black Bay Park in Post Falls, Idaho is an absolute treasure trove of beautiful scenery, and wonderful spots to tuck away with your love for photos. It’s easily in my top Northern Idaho session locations. Today, we’re talking all about why that is. Keep reading to learn why you should host your next session at Black Bay.

The basics

Black Bay Park is located inside of city limits, right on the Spokane River, making it so easy to get to! No long drive out of town to feel like you’re out in nature. The park itself is 56 acres of lush grass and foliage, with paved trails and sidewalks. It’s super accessible, and pups are welcome as long as they’re on leash. This park offers the access and amenities of an uber manicured city park, with the scenescapes and natural areas you typically find off a gravel road.

When should you take photos here?

Because of how accessible it is, and being right in town, Black Bay Park is the perfect option for sessions all year round. Whether you want to splash on the riverbank in the summer, or cozy up in the snow, we can capture it here! You won’t even have to worry about getting stuck on the side of a logging road. Being right on the river means that we get the cool river air in the summers as well, which makes it perfect for those late summer sessions. In the spring and fall, all of the foliage is changing, making Black Bay a great spot for photos every season of the year.

What kind of sessions do you shoot here?

Literally everything. That accessibility is coming in clutch once again! Whether you are looking for a saucy couples session, or a maternity shoot at 38 weeks pregnant, we can make it happen here! Between the large size of the park giving us lots of space for privacy, and the paved trails making it easy walking, anyone can feel comfortable venturing out at Black Bay Park.

Who is this spot great for?

This spot is awesome for couples who want lots of nature in their photos. Between the tall pines, stunning rock formations, and views of the river, this is the locale for those who love the outdoors. It’s also great for those learning to embrace their outdoorsiness! Stay in town and just dip your toes in the water, maybe even literally!

If this hasn’t convinced you that Black Bay Park is a great spot for your next session, I don’t know what will. This gem of a spot is so special, and really a great choice for anyone near or far. No matter the time of year, or memory you're looking to capture. Have questions about this stunning spot? Maybe you're ready to book your session!
